Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts (BTHR) is a leading upscale resort owner, developer and operator of a number of highly acclaimed and multiple award-winning resorts and spas throughout the region. To date, BTHR manages and/or has ownership interests in more than 20 resorts and hotels, 60 spas, 60 retail galleries and two golf courses. We are now seeking an enthusiastic and qualified individual to fill up the following position in Indonesia
AREA DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING (BASED IN INDONESIA, BINTAN)

Job Description:

Keeps abreast with developments and engineering technology advancements and makes appropriate recommendations to the Area General Manager and Group Director of Engineering for the improvement of the Group's properties
Responsible for the implementation of Corporate Engineering standards and policies
And ensures that they are observed and diligently adhered to
Coaches, counsels, disciplines and develops subordinate supervisors and ensures that associates are selected, trained, evaluated and rewarded in compliance with the Group's Associates Management Programmes
Responsible for the overall supervision of the Group's properties and for providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment by ensuring that ongoing preventive maintenance as well as day-to-day maintenance activities are carried out
Be part of the pre-opening task force to capture defects and responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, electrical and plant systems and equipment are always in excellent working order, operating safely and efficiently
Is responsible for ensuring that all activities within all properties in his region of responsibility are carried out honestly, ethically and within the parameters established by the local laws in the respective countries
Responsible for conducting annual Engineering audits and for ensuring that results are disseminated to all concerned parties in all hotels and resorts and follow up on implementation of any corrective action
Responsible for evaluating the Annual Engineering Self Audits and follow up on implementation of any corrective action
Performs other duties as directed by the Area General Manager and/ or the Group Director of Engineering

Requirements:

Relevant Professional qualification or a Masters Degree / Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Director of Engineering
Sound competence & technical knowledgeable in Engineering related disciplines and practices
Knowledge of Engineering Practices in a 5-star hospitality setting
Understanding of Computer Information Systems
Fully conversant with all aspects and health and safety, fire and emergency procedures
Able to lead & motivate a team of individuals
Able to thrive in a fast paced environment and to complete and enrol projects on his/her
Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism and integrity at all times, whether in appearance or in dealing with others
Position is based in Indonesia, Bintan. Must be willing to be stationed in Indonesia, Bintan.
